Skafold documentation

Skafold is a structure-first planning workspace for websites and applications. It turns briefs and AI conversations into an editable visual plan, then keeps your team’s AI chats and IDE tools connected to a shared, versioned source of truth.

• Create your first project and learn the canvas, workflow navigation, autosave, and readiness checks.
• Install Skafold Project Importer to generate new-project seeds and focused updates from AI Context.
• Follow the project workflow from discovery through collaborative planning and implementation.
• Import an AI-planned project when an AI has created the initial plan.
• Update an existing project with AI using its live AI Context URL.
• Create and manage AI Context for a stable team-wide link.
• Keep AI Context current as the project changes.
• Share a project for client review with a separate view-only link.

Recommended workflow

1. Brainstorm and consolidate project requirements with your preferred AI tool.
2. Use Skafold Project Importer to generate one validated skafold-project-seed file.
3. Import the seed to create a new Skafold project.
4. Refine the brief, Structure, journeys, Sections, Page Hierarchy, design guidance, and technical architecture with your team.
5. Create one AI Context link for the project and share it only with trusted team members and tools.
6. When Skafold reports that AI Context is out of date, choose Update AI Context after the project is saved.
7. Give the same URL to an AI chat or IDE and request changes to one frame, several frames, or the whole plan.
8. Import the returned skafold-frame-update. Skafold previews the supplied frames and leaves omitted frames untouched.
9. Continue using the same AI Context URL. It always serves the latest published snapshot.

Three AI contracts

• Project seed: creates a new project from confirmed planning.
• AI Context: read-only, versioned JSON served from a stable bearer URL for an existing project.
• Frame update: updates exactly the supplied frames in an existing project.

The same update format covers one frame, any combination, or all eight frames. There is no separate “partial update” and “full update” workflow.
