Overview

Skafold documentation

Plan a project in Skafold, define page and implementation context, export it to a repository, and keep it current as the build evolves.

Skafold is a structure-first planning workspace for websites and applications. It helps you turn a brief into pages, page sections, user journeys, design guidance, and technical decisions before implementation starts.

Start here

  1. Create a blank project, apply a structure preset, or import a plan from an AI tool.
  2. Capture intent and constraints in Project Brief.
  3. Map the direct page or screen hierarchy in Structure.
  4. Define each page's ordered sections in Page Hierarchy.
  5. Add focused User Journeys, Design Guidance, and Technical Architecture where they improve the handoff.
  6. Review Readiness, then download the Markdown context package.
  7. Add the Skafold Context Package folder to the repository and tell your coding tool to read it before planning or building.
  8. As decisions change, update Skafold and replace only the affected frame Markdown file in the repository.

Use Download Skafold JSON separately when you want an AI tool to revise the editable Skafold project itself.
