Core Workflow
Share a project for client review
Create a view-only project link for clients, optionally protect it with a password, and manage or revoke access.
Project sharing gives a client or stakeholder a read-only view of the current Skafold plan. They can open the link without signing in or creating a Skafold account.
Anyone with access can explore the canvas, move between planning frames, pan, zoom, and inspect the project. They cannot edit or comment, acquire editing locks, access project settings, or manage the share link.
Workspace owners, admins, and editors can create and manage a project share link. Viewer-only team members can open projects inside their workspace but cannot create, change, regenerate, or revoke external sharing.
Create a view-only link
Wait until Structure Studio shows Saved, then:
- Select Share in the Structure Studio toolbar.
- Optionally enter a password. Leave the field empty for link-only access.
- Select Create view link.
- Select Copy and send the link to the client.
The link is intentionally obscure and acts as the viewer's access key. Only send it to people who should be able to view the project. If you add a password, send it separately when practical.
Do not use a share link for a project containing information that should not be shared outside your Skafold workspace.
What the client sees
Opening the link loads a dedicated view-only version of Structure Studio. No Skafold sign-in is required.
If the link is password protected, the viewer must enter the current password before the project opens. After unlocking it, the browser remains authorized for a limited period.
The shared view loads the latest saved project plan. If you make changes while a client has the project open, they can select Refresh to load the newest saved version.
Change or remove the password
Open Share again to manage the active link.
- To set or change the password, enter a new password and select Set password.
- To remove password protection, leave the password field empty and select Remove password.
Changing or removing the password invalidates existing unlocked browser sessions. Send the new password to anyone who should retain access.
Generate a new link
Select Generate new link when the current URL may have been forwarded or you want to replace it.
The previous URL stops working immediately. The existing password setting is retained, so copy and distribute the new link to the intended viewers.
Revoke access
Select Revoke access to disable the shared view immediately. The current link and any unlocked viewer sessions stop working.
You can create a fresh view link later if the project needs to be shared again.
Sharing guidance
- Wait for Saved before asking a client to review recent changes.
- Use a password when the link may pass through several people or communication systems.
- Generate a new link if the URL has reached unintended recipients.
- Revoke access when the review is complete.
- Export the Markdown context package or Skafold JSON for implementation workflows; a view-only link is intended for reviewing the plan, not transferring editable project data.
