Presets
Structure presets
Start projects from Skafold's built-in website, commerce, and application structures.
Structure presets populate the full canvas with a coordinated starting plan. They can include a project brief, pages, page sections, design guidance, technical architecture, and connections.
Built-in presets
Skafold currently includes:
- Marketing Website: service-led pages, blog structure, enquiry flow, design direction, CMS, forms, and integrations.
- Ecommerce Store: collection and product discovery, cart, policy pages, Shopify-oriented architecture, and merchandising sections.
- Web App / SaaS: authentication, dashboard and workspace routes, modules, account and billing, exports, data, and service architecture.
Open Presets in Structure Studio to browse or search built-in presets.
Applying a preset
Applying a preset replaces the current Structure canvas. Skafold creates fresh project-specific node and edge IDs while preserving the preset's content and relationships.
After applying a preset:
- Rewrite the Project Brief for the actual project.
- Remove pages and services that are not required.
- Rename generic pages and modules.
- Review every page's sections.
- Replace example stack and provider decisions.
- Add project-specific constraints and design guidance.
Do not export an unchanged preset as final project context.
Presets and page sections
Preset pages include initial section lists. When a section name matches a Skafold section preset, the page hierarchy also receives its default purpose, build guidance, tags, and thumbnail.
This makes a structure preset more than a page list: it supplies a usable first draft of the page-level handoff.
Search behavior
Structure preset search checks:
- Preset title
- Description
- Category
- Node titles and bodies
- Edge labels
Use broad terms such as commerce, CMS, dashboard, auth, or blog to find a relevant starting point.
When to use a preset
Use a built-in preset when roughly 60–80% of its shape is relevant. Start blank when removing the preset's assumptions would take longer than mapping the real project.
For repeated internal or client patterns, save your own structure preset.
